How to use it

  1. Enter your hourly rate. Daily overtime switches off at $18.00 or more.
  2. Enter hours for each day of your workweek.
  3. See regular and overtime hours and your total pay.

The formula

If rate < $18.00: hours over 8 in a day at 1.5×

Always: regular hours over 40 in a week at 1.5×

Example: Four 10-hour days at $16/hour: 32 regular and 8 overtime hours, $512 + $192 = $704. At $20/hour the same week has no overtime, because daily overtime doesn't apply above $18.

Good to know

  • Nevada's minimum wage is $12.00 an hour from July 1, 2026, so the daily overtime cut-off is $18.00.
  • Employer and employee can agree in writing to a 4 × 10 schedule, which removes daily overtime.
  • Nevada counts the 8 hours in any 24-hour period starting when the shift begins, so a quick turnaround can trigger overtime; the calculator uses workdays.
